Bib & Tucker (Small Batch – 6 Year)

“During America’s rough and tumble early days, the term ‘bib & tucker’ was used to describe your finest attire. Patiently aged for 6 years, this delightfully smooth bourbon from Tennessee displays scents of chestnut and leather and flavors of warm vanilla and toffee.”

ABV: 46%
Batch: 017
Bottle: 24087
Price: $49.99

Distiller: Tennessee Distilling Group. Bottled by Bid & Tucker Bardstown, KY.

EYE
Light amber caramel

NOSE
The nose has a very earthy scent to it with notes of leather, barley, chestnut and grass. It smells on the young side with little evidence that it was aged for six years in a barrel. We noticed a strong vanilla overtone and appreciated the softness of the scent with very little astringency.

TASTE
An earthy toasted oak, carmel, vanilla and toffee.Quite sweet witha butteryness that coats the tongue. To this writer, there is a clear licorice taste that I feel makes the strongest statement.

FEEL
Soft burn, goes down the throat easy with a mild hug.

FINISH
Long finish. The tongue coat lasts long after the whiskey is gone but the burn disappears quickly. Leaves the licorice taste hanging on.

Bib & Tucker comes in one of the most unique bottles we've seen. It looks great on the shelf and has a nice exposed cork that makes one member want to "pull it out with my teeth like a real man." This was not anyone's first experience with B&T and won't be our last. Most members consider this a go to and always a safe choice whether hosting new company or old friends. Its an easy pour that you can drink all night without burning out, getting overpowered or turning sickly sweet. This book club left me feeling like i got beaten in my sleep its so drinkable. The soft burn and sweetness is friendly to a new bourbon drinker and everyone agreed its a good starter. For the price, you're getting a quality bourbon that won't just sit on the shelf. Be warned, if you hate licorice you might not love this but its worth trying.

  • ABOUT

We are 6 guys that like to read cool books each month then sit around, drink some bourbon, maybe smoke a cigar and discuss this months book.We don’t always agree on the quality of the book or the message it is trying to say but what we all do agree on is that the book is ALWAYS better when we discuss it.
